1st SFEE Summit: The most important representatives from Europe and Greece of the pharmaceutical industry at the Athens Concert Hall on June 18th
Athens, 11 June 2024.- The Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE) is organising the first 1st SFEE Summit, under the theme “Redefining Value“, on 18 June 2024, at the Athens Concert Hall under the auspices of the Ministry of Health, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA) and the European Parliament.
The Conference on behalf of the State will be attended by, among others: the Minister of Health, Mr. Adonis Georgiadis, the Minister of Development, Mr. Kostas Skrekas, the Minister of Digital Governance, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, the Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Athanasios Kontogeorgis, the Deputy Minister of Health, Mr. Marios Themistocleous, the Deputy Minister of Development Maximos Senetakis, the President and CEO of IDIKA, Mrs. Niki Tsouma, as well as the Secretary General for Fiscal Policy of the Ministry of National Economy and Finance, Mrs. Pavlina Karasiotou and from the Ministry of Health, the Secretary General for Strategic Planning, Mr. Aris Angelis and the Secretary General of Health Services Lilian Venetia Vildiridi.
The speeches of Elias Mosialos, Professor of Health Policy, Brian-Abel Smith Chair, President of the Department of Health Policy and Director of LSE Health and Stefan Oelrich, First Vice-President & Treasure, European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), Board of Management of Bayer AG & Head of the Pharmaceuticals Division, Bayer, Germany, are expected with particular interest.
In a dynamically evolving environment, SFEE, through its first conference, focuses on the importance of the pharmaceutical industry for the Greek economy, the value and role of pharmaceutical innovation, the latest trends in health and pharmaceutical sectors, as well as the challenges and opportunities of the Greek pharmaceutical sector. The aim of the conference is to facilitate dialogue around these issues, exchange best practices on current challenges in the pharmaceutical landscape and provide integrated solutions, taking into account international trends and the modern socio-economic environment of Greece, according to which the future and strategic objectives of pharmaceutical policy in our country are mapped.
Key topics to be discussed include: The resilience of the health system and the pharmaceutical sector, access to new and innovative treatments, the role of pharmaceutical innovation, strengthening national competitiveness, the European environment and the value of the pharmaceutical industry for society.
The 1st SFEE Summit aims to become an annual event for the healthcare industry and a platform for constructive dialogue and ideas between the pharmaceutical industry, government, patient associations, medicine and academia. Leading representatives of the political, economic, business and scientific community, academics, as well as top health executives from Greece and the exterior.
