HMVO website up and running – Registration capability for End Users and Marketing Authorisation Holders (MAH)

The implementation of the Directive on Falsified Medicines, which will enter into force on 9 February 2025, is on the final stretch
Athens, 18 November 2024 – The Hellenic Medicines Verification Organization (HMVO) announces the launch of its website www.hmvo.gr (HMVO), created to support the implementation of the European Directive on falsified medicines.
The new website provides the possibility of registration as follows:
- For end users, who are wholesale license holders, who can register directly with HMVS, (the HMVO system). Pharmacies will be connected collectively through IDIKA’s system in a second phase.
- Marketing Authorisation Holders (MAHs) will need to register in the system and fulfill their financial obligations to HMVO.
Clear instructions for the above procedures can be found on the HMVO website.
The Hellenic Medicines Verification Organization (HMVO) aims to ensure full compliance with European and national legislative requirements and the safety of medicines in Greece.
The new verification system, expected to be fully operational by 9 February 2025, will support medicines’ safe and efficient distribution. HMVO is committed to continuously improving the quality and reliability of the system, helping to ensure patient health and safety.
