“Career Day” event

Athens, 31 March 2025.-With great success and the participation of more than 70 students of the Postgraduate Studies programs of the Medical School of the University of Athens “Development of new drugs: research, circulation and access” and “Thoracic Oncology: modern clinical-laboratory approach and research” in collaboration with the Hellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Companies (SFEE), the “Career Day” event was held on Friday, March 28th, 2025 at the  Crowne Plaza  Hotel in Athens.

The “Career Day” offered to more than seventy (70) postgraduate students of the above programs the opportunity to connect with the labor market, as they met and talked with representatives of pharmaceutical companies that are members of SFEE. The students had the opportunity to be informed about the prospects and dynamics of the pharmaceutical industry, as well as about the trends and professional prospects that are emerging in the field of Healthcare. During the event, more than 200 interviews were conducted between companies and students and graduates of the Postgraduate Programs in pre-arranged appointments.

The Professor of Pathology-Oncology of the Medical School of the University of Athens and Director of the Third University Pathology Clinic and Laboratory of the same name, Director of the Postgraduate Program, Mr. Konstantinos Syrigos stated: “The Career Day is an important step for the interconnection of academia with the labor market, offering companies operating in the field of medicine access to specialized human resources, while at the same time allowing candidates to discover new professional prospects. Students and graduates of the Postgraduate Programs had the opportunity to discover the possibilities offered by the pharmaceutical industry, while the event aimed to promote innovation and continuing education.”

SFEE’s Communications Director, Mrs. Maria Leontari, in her greeting, stated: “Faithful to our appointment, we are here at the “Career Day” for the second consecutive year. This year’s effort strengthens this initiative, confirming our commitment to the promotion and utilization of young people, the most valuable asset of our country. The pharmaceutical sector is one of the most dynamic sectors of the national economy, with a total impact on GDP exceeding 6 billion euros and a particularly significant contribution to employment and innovation. SFEE and its member companies remain committed to supporting young scientists, steadily investing in the development and training of future executives through lifelong learning programs.”

The conference was honored with the participation of high-ranking executives of SFEE’s member companies: AbbVie, AstraZeneca, Daiichi Sankyo, Demo, Lavipharm, NovoNordisk, MSD, Roche, Sanofi, Vianex, WinMedica, the clinical trials company PPD and the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens.

The event took place in the framework of the conference “Days of Pathology”.
