Mrs. Ioanna Kontomanolopoulou appointed as Director General of HMVO

Athens, November 21, 2024. The Hellenic Medicines Verification Organization (HMVO), established to strengthen the safety of medicines in the Greek market, announces the appointment of Mrs. Ioanna Kontomanolopoulou as its Director General.
Mrs. Kontomanolopoulou has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry across various operational sectors, including procurement, supply chain management, customer service, production, quality assurance, and general management.
She previously served as Director of Operations/Chief Operating Officer at the pharmaceutical company GAP and has held senior leadership positions in international and Greek companies.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Manchester Metropolitan University and a Master of Science in Quality Management from Paisley University.
She is fluent in English and Italian.
HMVO aims to protect European citizens from falsified (fake) medicines by obstructing their penetration into the legal supply chain.
