CODE OF CONDUCT
Collaboration between the pharmaceutical industry, Patient Associations, Health Professionals and state actors is critical to shaping the future of medical research and optimizing the Health System and is conducted within ethical rules and transparency.
The Code of Conduct of SFEE is a living and dynamic framework of rules concerning the promotion of pharmaceutical products for human use, based on professional responsibility, ethics and transparency. It was first implemented in March 2002.
It is addressed to all pharmaceutical companies and the wider scientific community of Health Professionals. In its essence, it is a self-regulatory body for the pharmaceutical companies that are members of SFEE, but also for those that are not members, if they wish.
The Code of Conduct is regularly renewed and is harmonized with both the Code of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries & Associations (EFPIA) and the Code of the Panhellenic Medical Association.
The recent revision of the Code was the result of a collective effort and participation of all member companies of SFEE, after the need to clarify certain parameters and change others, as well as to establish new and stricter rules and practices. In this way, the pharmaceutical industry is sending a message for more transparency.
As part of the implementation of the Code of Conduct of SFEE, member companies can submit any complaints of violations either by post, in person or by email to [email protected]. Complaints can be named or anonymous. The legal department of SFEE undertakes the receipt of the complaints, while ensuring the anonymity of the complaints.
The SFEE Code is based on the EFPIA Code which can be found here.
